Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the warehouse facility by handling incoming materials (unloading and loading trucks, placing materials onto racking, breakdown of arriving shipments) and building of outbound shipments (pick/pack) quickly, accurately and on time as well as practicing effective inventory management.
Main responsibilities :
The responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Labour Management: Direct the operations of the warehouse work team to achieve prescribed objectives. Cross train team members. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques. Lead continuous improvement activities in the warehouse.
- Shipping/Receiving: Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that product is properly counted.
- Warehouse / Equipment: Oversee the housekeeping of the warehouse, i.e. safety, security, layout, stocking, inventory control of warehouse materials etc. Organize and maintain cleanliness of warehouse. Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
- Scheduling: Participate in establishing work schedules ensuring that the schedules are correctly implemented, jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly. Organize and manage all overtime and weekend work as needed. Manage days off and vacation.
- Storage: Maintain product locator system and ensure the optimal utilization of space.
- System & Reporting: Complete all applicable data entry (receipt entry, etc.), maintain/collect records and update reports in a timely and accurate fashion, including weekly productivity reports.
- Inventory: Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories. In the case of returns, ensures that they are checked and stocked in accordance with clients’ instructions
Main requirements :
We are looking for an individual who possesses:
- 2-3 years Supervisory experience
- Computer literate
- Working knowledge of RF scanners and WMS systems
- Forklift/Reach/Order Picker certificate of training
- First Aid certificate or willingness to complete the training
- Highly dependable with superior attendance record
