Information Technology Support Specialist

Reporting to the Manager of IT team, the IT Support Specialist will work hand and hand with our existing IT Team Members to provide subject matter expertise in support of the Microsoft environment. Providing first line support for our IT infrastructure and server administration and second level support for all applications. Manages related services and acts as an escalation point for end-user technical issues for all IT services used by Mantoria within all its locations.

This role will manage servers, storage, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, telephone systems, building access & security systems, video surveillance systems, as well as implementing best practices and performing preventive maintenance.
They will work with the Mantoria IT team to collaborate on technical solutions, working to address IT related service outages, patching of remaining on premises and off-premise managed servers, and vulnerability remediation.
This role contributes to the design, planning, and testing of Mantoria’s business continuity and disaster recovery plan as it relates to IT infrastructure.
Will also liaise with third party vendors to maintain / patch / upgrade business critical systems. They will assist with hardware, firewall, telecom and software vendor evaluation, recommendation, and negotiations.

 

Requirements

  • Willingness to travel between various facilities within the Greater Toronto Area (minimum 2 days/week and as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of relevant qualifications and experience. Experience in the transportation logistics industry would be a great asset
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Solid communication skills that demonstrate understanding of complex technical details, clarity of thought, and the ability to disseminate relevant information based on your audience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to set own priorities in a timely manner
  • Patience and diplomacy when dealing with colleagues and partners on technical and support issues are a must
  • Ability to function effectively under pressure and while working under time constraints
  • Advanced understanding of networking protocols
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows-based technical support environment
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP network
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products and services
  • Exceptional phone and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality
  • ITIL Foundations Certificate an asset
  • Certification in CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or related are an asset
  • Requires the ability to occasional lift hardware equipment on an as needed basis
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere 6.7 or 7.0
  • Create and maintain documentation for VMware infrastructure
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Veeam backup software
  • Proficiency in configuring and resolving issues with warehouse IT equipment, including handheld barcode scanners and barcode label printers
  • Capability to provide support for building access and security systems, as well as video surveillance systems.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management System applications is advantageous.
  • French is an asset
